Our S2 History students paid a visit to the Hong Kong Museum of Art on 14th October to appreciate the artworks from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: The Road to the Baroque — Masterpieces from the Capodimonte Museum.
Late 17th-century Italian art focused on intense and realistic representations of emotions. Baroque artists were strikingly different in portraying lifelike figures, often immersing the audience in the scene. Through the appreciation of the paintings, our students can vividly experience and acquire knowledge of the Renaissance paintings, notably the idea of humanism, beyond their History textbook teachings.
